Questions: Why is there pollution of the mind? Why is there biasness? Why is there misconception?
The Master answered:
Most people form their opinion based on greed; the mind is disturbed due to this attachment.
Why is there pollution of the mind? Why is there biasness? Why are there misconceptions? All of these have originated from greed and ignorance. Greed, hatred, and delusion are hindrances to gaining insight. Coupled with the influence of personal opinion, conflicts become unavoidable, and thus people fight with each other. As a consequence, the earth is destroyed, and all living beings live in suffering. This is indeed regrettable.
Chaos originates from discord, while discord originates from “a small thought”. Therefore, if we want to be harmonious with others and be free of disaster, we must take care of our minds. As I often say, take care of your mind at all times, and be mindful of your thought.
