How can you know death before understanding what life is?

Instead of feeling troubled about things that happen after death, why not live life to the fullest?

Someone asked, “How should we perceive the quote 'How can you know death before understanding what life is' by Confucius?”

The Master answered:

Some people are worried about the world they’ll be in after death. It is quite pointless to pursue the truth of being a ghost before learning how to be a human. The famous Buddhist guideline states, “If you want to know the causes of your past life, just look at the life you have in this current lifetime. If you want to know your future life, look at your actions in your present life.”

Instead of worrying about the things that happen after death, why not live life to the fullest because you will always reap what you sow.
