Home Visits by Tzu Chi Teachers’ Association Reaches Out to the ‘Invisible’ Needy
The first Saturday of every month is Lumbini’s home visit day. This time, seven principals and teachers from Tzu Chi Teachers’ Association also got involved. Some were participating for the first time, while others had participated several times. It is hoped that these visits will enable these educators to reach out to the needy, inspire compassion in them, and bring this spirit of kindness back to the campus, creating a cycle of love.

They are principals, they know better (both) practically and theoretically, they are teaching the students, so basically they are the ones who guide the society to be good, they really need to know about what’s happening in their surroundings

We can also apply in our life, and in our school, and also teach our students, guardians, parents to help those needy people, this is the responsibility as human beings
Every time a volunteer walks into a village, it will always attract nearby villagers to crowd around. The group split up, some are in charge of interacting with care recipients, while others use Jing Si Aphorisms to motivate nearby villagers.

I just thought to be happy when we were sharing about the Dharma and Jing Si Aphorisms. So next time when these villagers see Tzu Chi volunteers asking them to do good, it is easier for them to accept.
By interacting with the children frequently, they soon become part of them. Madan, vice-principal of Talkuha Junior High School, who participated in several previous visits, felt the joy of helping others from the visit.

I am very happy, I am very joyful, because we help (others with something). They might not be my relatives and kids, but they share the problems (that) they have, it means they believe me, they love me. This is the opportunity, this is the love.
Seeing sickness and suffering through home visits inspires compassion. Hope that the principals and teachers can bring this spirit of kindness back to the campus, so that love can continue to circulate.
