Tzu Chi 58th Anniversary and Buddha Day Celebration (2024)
Tzu Chi Merit (Singapore) held its 58th Anniversary and Buddha Day Celebration on the evening of 12 May. Despite the recent hot and rainy weather, 3,047 people attended the event. Individuals from diverse racial and religious backgrounds gathered at the Bukit Gombak Stadium to express gratitude to the Buddha, parents, and all sentient beings, and to pray for a world free from disasters.
Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister of National Security, Mr. Teo Chee Hean, representatives from the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO), Buddhist monks, and VIPs from various industries graced this remarkable "3-in-1" occasion of celebrating Buddha Day, Mother's Day and Global Tzu Chi Day.
This year, a total of 1,280 volunteers participated in the Buddha bathing procession. They conducted walking meditation and formed the number "58" and two "Bodhi leaves," creating a solemn ambience for attendees to immerse themselves in the serenity and solemnity of the Dharma assembly.
