Auspicious Seventh Lunar Month Blessing Ceremony 2024

The Seventh Lunar Month is a Joyous Month, a Month of Filial Piety and an Auspicious Month

In Buddhism, the lunar month of July is considered auspicious, a time of filial piety, and joy. According to tradition, during the time of the Buddha, disciples would begin their annual three-month retreat on the sixteenth day of the fourth lunar month, concluding it on the fifteenth day of July. This period is crucial for spiritual growth, symbolizing auspiciousness and joy for the Buddha and his followers.

The "Ullambana" or "Ghost Festival" in July originates from the story of Maudgalyayana rescuing his mother, emphasizing the importance of filial piety. True "Ullambana" aims to alleviate the suffering of beings, promoting vegetarianism and compassion towards all life forms.

Today, the world faces various uncertainties and disasters, prompting a call for people to adopt a conscientious and sincere approach, advocating for vegetarianism and cultivating kindness by refraining from causing harm to all beings.

We cordially invite you and your family to join us and learn about the seventh lunar month from the Buddhism perspective.
